Where the Story Began…
In early January 2016, Amy & Steph were on the hunt for a Chester Wedding Photographer for their civil- partnership wedding planned for April 2016 at the wonderful Rossett Hall Hotel, between Chester and Wrexham in the Idyllic village of Rossett. After some emails and text messages, Capture My Wedding was chosen to capture their wedding photographs. In March, we met at Rossett Hall to discuss the finer details of their wedding photography requirements and it was clear that these two ladies knew exactly what they wanted! I was so excited and their wedding day could not come soon enough!
Arriving at Rossett Hall
Amy and Steph both decided to stay at Rossett Hall the night before their wedding. The day started with beautiful sunshine and when I arrived at Amy’s hotel door, the chattering and banter from inside was a great indicator of the fun and laughter we were to have for the rest of the day. I took a walk down to the ceremony room and the team at Rossett Hall had created a fabulous ceremony room for Amy & Steph. It looked fabulous.
Hair and makeup started soon after and it was clear that both Amy and Steph had chosen very talented teams to pamper them in preparation for the day ahead. Steph, Steph’s Mum Jackie and Bridesmaids Cara and Sophie chose Katy for Hair and Michael for Make up, both from Michael Perks Make-up Studio in Widnes whilst Amy chose Alexandra Vincent from the Wirral for make up and hair by Katy (Michael Perks Studio).
As both families arrived and milling around the venue, it was lovely to see how relaxed Amy and Steph were in their respective rooms. With hair and make-up complete, it was time to get into those beautiful wedding gowns each Bride had carefully chosen.
Walking One Another Down The Aisle
To walk them down the aisle, Amy had chosen her Brother, Rob and Steph chose her Brother, Ethan. Both Brothers beamed with pride and proudly accompanied their Sisters to the top of the aisle where Amy and Steph kissed and walked elegantly down the aisle, arm in arm. The room was full of smiles and the Mums’ eyes were filled with tears.
Steph’s Brother took the limelight briefly with his fabulous reading during the ceremony, beautifully read before the Brides took their places for the all important exchanging of vows and rings, handed to each of them by Ian, Steph’s Step Father.
Chief Bridesmaid looked on with a tear in her eye as her best friends exchanged their vows and became Mrs and Mrs Holbrook, sealed by a kiss.
Fantastic Spring Sunshine Blessed this Chester Wedding Photographer
The sun blessed the wedding reception and all of the wedding guests armed with a drink in their hands headed to the gardens for photographs. The children played and the banter flowed. It was such a fun wedding to be a part of.
When we entered the wedding reception and I could not believe the transformation – it was breathtaking. The flowers and the place settings looked stunning and really showed the room off beautifully. The months of planning had really paid off as the guests thought it looked beautiful too. To break with tradition, Steph was first to deliver her heart warming and tear jerking speech, before her Step-Father Ian, then Brother of the Bride Rob and finally Best Woman & Bridesmaid, Cara delivered a fabulous speech too.
Fabulous Photographic Opportunity at Rossett Hall
Steph and Amy fell in love with Rossett Hall the first time they visited and as a Chester Wedding Photographer, I can see why. The spacious rooms and stunning georgian building is just a perfect backdrop for photographs, however the best bit for me is the spiral staircase and chandelier. Quite simply, it is beautiful and provided me with a fantastic space to capture some romantic photographs with Amy & Steph.
Non-stop Dancing for Wedding Guests
The Dj arrived and before we knew it, it was time for the first dance. Both girls swayed and danced their way around the dance floor whilst everyone sat around in awe, cameras and phones recording this momentous occasion to re-live again and again.
What followed was possibly the most occupied dance floor I’ve ever seen in the twelve years of photographing weddings! The dance floor rarely had space to stand and take photographs…it was amazing!
