Their story began…
at the Crabwall Manor Wedding Fair in April 2015. Brides-to-be, Gemma and Danielle were on the hunt for a Chester Wedding Photographer for their same-sex wedding planned for June 2016 at the stunning Crabwall Manor Hotel. They came across me at the Crabwall Manor wedding fair, having spoken to the Hotel’s wedding co-ordinator who highly recommended the services of Capture My Wedding photographer, Laura-Louise.
We talked and I showed them my work, my previous Weddings at Crabwall Manor and they decided to book Capture My Wedding for their big day! It’s always a huge compliment to be booked there and then at a wedding fair, so this certainly made my day. In May, we met for our pre-wedding meeting at Crabwall Manor to discuss the finer details of their wedding photography requirements and it was clear that these two ladies knew exactly what they wanted! I was so excited and their wedding day could not come soon enough!
Bridal Preparations… round one!
The night before their wedding, Gemma decided to stay at Crabwall Manor whilst Dani stayed at their house ready for round one of bridal preparations. The day started with beautiful sunshine and a stunning bouquet of flowers which Gemma sent to Dani which was a beautifully romantic gesture. The make up artist, Holly Lander had arrived and was making a start on Dani’s Bridesmaid and Sister, Bethany.
From the beginning, it really was a family affair, as Dani’s Brother, Gareth and his girlfriend Claire as well and Dani’s Mum, Linda and her partner, Michael were all at the house, bringing plenty of support and banter too. This seemed to keep Dani calm and chilled out, she was ready to see her future wife and to tie the knot at Crabwall in front of their family and friends.
I took the opportunity to photograph the venue whilst make up artist, Holly Lander arrived and set up in the bridal suite. It was lovely to wander around the empty ceremony room amongst the colourful setting of the conservatory, the colours popped and looked amazing thanks to the hard work of Colette from Couture Chair Covers and Angelic events provided the pillars table decorations, table plan and the flowers.
Bridal preparations round two!
Round two and it was time to be with Bride Gemma to capture her pre-wedding preparations. Make up artist, Holly Landers once again created a fabulous look, firstly on Gemma and then on her Bridesmaid, Sara. Dani had arranged for Sara to give Gemma a beautiful wrapped gift from Dani, a beautiful bangle for her to wear on her wedding day. Before we knew it, Gemma’s Father, Keith had arrived to escort his beautiful Daughter downstairs to meet her future wife.
Two Beautiful Brides Shine Bright at Crabwall Manor
As the music started, Bridesmaids Sara and Bethany walked down the aisle together before Gareth proudly walked Dani down the aisle. Dani then turned and watched Keith walk Gemma down the aisle and as soon as they could, Gemma and Dani held hands and admired each others chosen “looks” for their big day.
There were smiles throughout the ceremony, even when a quick dash was required to retrieve a mis-placed ring, before sealing their exchange of rings and vows with a kiss.
Family and friends looked on with a tears in their eyes as Gemma and Dani exchanged their vows and became Mrs Wellstead and Mrs Knox.
Fantastic Summer Sunshine Blessed this Chester Wedding Photographer
The sun blessed the wedding reception and all the wedding guests headed to the gardens for photographs. The children played and the banter flowed. It was such a fantastic wedding to be a part of.
When the Brides entered the conservatory again, the transformation was simply amazing! The pop of colour looked stunning and really showed the room off beautifully and the months of research and planning had really paid off. Speeches began with Gemma’s Father, Keith, before Gareth took his turn to talk about how proud he is of Dani and what an inspiration she is to him and Beth. Then Dani delivered a beautifully heartwarming and funny speech about how she and Gemma met, looking for “Kerry”…a conversation starter if ever I heard one!
Fabulous Photographic Opportunity at Crabwall Manor Hotel
Gemma and Dani fell in love with Crabwall Manor as soon as they visited and as a Chester Wedding Photographer, I can see why. The stunning building is just a perfect backdrop for photographs, however the best bit for me is the vast gardens and romantic woodland area. Quite simply, it is beautiful and provided me with a fantastic locations to capture some romantic photographs with Gemma and Dani.
Non-stop Dancing for Wedding Guests
The DJ from Dancefloor Couture arrived and before we knew it, it was time for the first dance. Both girls swayed and danced their way around the dance floor whilst everyone sat around in awe, cameras and phones recording this momentous occasion to re-live again and again. Bethany had been selected to burst a confetti cloud above the dance floor which scattered confetti and balloons across the dance floor.
