Chester couple celebrate their marriage in style
Crabwall Manor Hotel, Chester
As a Chester Wedding Photographer, it is always a pleasure to work at Crabwall Manor and I first met Laura at the Crabwall Manor wedding fair over a year before she was due to tie the knot with Chris. She loved the fact that as a Crabwall Manor wedding photographer, I knew the venue inside and out and Laura informed me that I had been booked by her cousin, Amy who were getting married a few weeks before them at the Grosvenor Hotel & spa. It is always a huge compliment to be booked by family members.
Chester Wedding Photographer Captures Wedding in All Its Glory
As soon as I arrive at Crabwall Manor, I always begin with photographs of the building and ceremony room, it’s a ritual now, I’ve been doing it for 12 years! Photographing the vast grounds when it is so quiet is lovely and I hope that everyone witnesses this prestigious Chester Wedding venue like this one day. The brickwork, castle turrets and gardens of Crabwall Manor look fabulous and today is no different.
I notice that the ceremony room is dressed and awaiting the arrival of the guests. Laura & Chris have chosen a vintage theme with the blue bows and stunning yellow sunflowers which compliment the room beautifully and seem to glow brighter in the morning sunshine as I wander through the ceremony room, capturing memories as I go.
Bridal Preparations in full swing
Laura and her bridesmaids stayed at Crabwall Manor the night before the wedding, to take full advantage of the fabulous facilities and beautiful, spacious rooms and to ensure they gave themselves maximum time for the bridal preparations.
It is always a pleasure to capture the details of any wedding, liked the dress and the shoes and I do this when everyone is milling around, gently losing themselves in the music on the TV music channel before a shudder of reality hits and then smiles when they quickly realise that “today is the day”.
I always find it even more special when children are embraced at weddings and Laura and Chris are lucky enough to have their three children with them to celebrate their wedding day. Laura’s two Daughters shared the morning with her and her adult Bridesmaids.
Chris arrives early with his Best man and Ushers in plenty of time for the ceremony which provides us with the perfect opportunity for some pre-wedding photographs before enjoying a quick pint before family and friends begin arriving for the wedding.
Time is passing quickly, so I head back up to the bridal preparations to photograph Laura’s final make up touches before it is time to get into her wedding dress. Her adult bridesmaids are now dressed and they look beautiful in their french navy, lace layered dresses and are complimented by their yellow shoes, to match the Bride.
Everyone dressed, we meander down to the conservatory and Laura’s Father, “Twig” proudly walks Laura down the aisle to her Groom. As soon as physically possible, Laura and Chris hold hands and Laura holds on to Chris as if her life depended on it. Being a wedding photographer is such a privileged role, standing at the front, watching the ceremony unfold, capturing memories to treasure from this unique position.
Champagne corks pop during sunshine Wedding Reception
Right on cue, the sun shines and everyone heads out to the stunning gardens for reception drinks and all the guests can see why this is a popular Chester wedding venue. The young guests make the most of the vast gardens as the adults mingle on the terrace before I invite small groups for photographs before the wedding breakfast takes place in the conservatory. The hotel staff turn the room around in fabulous style and it looks like a completely different room. The attention to detail is wonderful; as always.
The speeches are led by Laura’s Father, “Twig” who is reduced to tears as he commands the room and tells each guest how proud he is of Laura and Chris as their families unite. By the end of his speech there is hardly a dry eye in the house! Chris reinforces his love for Laura and their three beautiful children, extending his thanks to his and Laura’s Parents before the best man “digs the dirt” on the Groom. Fabulous speeches! Well done guys!
Evening light creates fabulous evening Photography
I invited Chris and Laura for some final shots in the garden of their gorgeous wedding venue before their evening guests arrive and we captured some lovely photographs of them in and around the grounds before Laura requested a photograph on the stairs at at the window next to the Bridal suite. I think this captured beautifully Laura’s five minutes of the day to contemplate her magical wedding day. I hope it was everything that you and Chris wanted and more.
To Laura and Chris and your extended family, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a long and happy life as Husband and Wife and thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture this important day in your lives.
It has been a privilege getting to know you.
