An email appeared in my inbox this morning and I squealed like a small child on Christmas morning! It confirmed that as a wedding photographer at CaptureMy Wedding, I have been shortlisted for a 5* Customer Service Wedding Award. What a brilliant way to start 2016!
The email stated that being shortlisted for a wedding award is indeed a “big deal” and reminded email recipients that they should be proud, which indeed I am! Very proud indeed.
Wedding Award Nominations began back in 2015
Nomination for the Guides for Brides 5* Customer Service Award came from one of my wedding couples… You know who you are! I really must say a huge thank you to you for taking the time to nominate me for such a fabulous wedding award. I never even knew such a wedding award existed!
Since the nominations were announced, I’ve been contacting all my previous wedding photography customers, asking them to take 5 minutes out of their busy lives to write a testimonial for me on my voting page to give me a chance of winning the award.
As expected, my wedding couples did not disappoint and they responded brilliantly and I received what seemed like endless notifications to confirm that people were voting for me, it was very exciting!
Voting closed on Sunday, 31st December and successful shortlisted nominees of this prestigious award were contacted this morning. Nominees are now invited to attend a glitzy award ceremony in London (I’m dusting off my glad rags as I type!)
The Value of a Wedding Photography Testimonial
Since I began my wedding photography business almost 12 years ago, I have asked each couple to write a testimonial. As a business, this is really helpful to gauge how a couple really feet about the service they have received. I pride myself on going the “extra mile”, going “above and beyond” on every single job I undertake and smiling whilst I do it.
When it comes to weddings and wedding photography, I’ve experienced many weddings over the years and I use that experience, knowledge and skill to keep things smooth and to remove any unnecessary stress for the couple. The testimonials confirm that I achieve this and many talk about it being “fun” and a “wonderful experience” which makes all my hard work and effort worthwhile. Reading through all the testimonials again today has made me feel quite emotional and at the same time, brimming with pride.
Where Does Customer Service Start?
My “service” begins as soon as I meet a couple, from the first hello, to discussing their wedding in more detail, talking them through how to book, all written communication including contracts and pre-wedding meeting forms, photographing the wedding day itself and includes the day I hand deliver their wedding album. I always try to offer the best customer service that I can.
Being a Wedding Photographer is the “Best Job in the World”
Being a wedding photographer was the best decision I ever made. I consider it an absolute pleasure to be chosen by a couple to capture their wedding. I never underestimate the importance of their decision. To help couples when choosing a photographer I have written my top five tips in my blog, which can be read here.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to vote for me. Thank you once again for your ongoing support. It never, ever goes unnoticed.
